Run the Distance

I used to crawl,
But now I walk;
I used to cry,
But now I fight;
I used to give up,
But now I continue;
I used to cower,
But now I stand;
Where I used to walk,
I now run.

I used to panic,
But now I stand brave;
I used to be teased,
and hide from the world;
But now I am teased,
and face it without fear;
I used to be sad,
But now I am happier;
Where I used to walk, I now run,
but there is still distance
to go.
