Help Support YWA!

YWA provides projects on a per-ask basis. School districts, schools, community groups and individuals may rely on our non profit status when planning YWA enrichment activities.

With your support, Young Writers Association is able to provide opportunities for kids of all ages to play with words and share their voices with our community. Your donation allows us to inspire and support our young people’s relationship with the spoken and written word in a variety of ways.

For your donation, you receive UpStarts, YWA’s literary publication of Lane County young people, as well as a discount card for 10% off at five participating Eugene bookstores.

Please give what you can. Your donation is tax deductible.  Donate Now.

If you donate an equal amount to the Oregon Cultural Trust, you will also receive a full dollar-for-dollar tax credit (of up to $500 for individuals, $1,000 for joint filers, and $2,500 for businesses) against your Oregon income tax liability.  More information at www.culturaltrust.org

Examples of what your support can help us achieve:

• $600 provides one school with a team of four artists and writers working with 120 school children for a literature based integrated arts day.
• $150 buys a full day of age-appropriate creative writing explorations in a local school.
• $500 provides one school with a storyteller, artist, scientist and writer --an exciting day of exploration for up to 120 students.
• $1000 brings a writer and dancer into a school to partner with two classroom teachers to develop curricula  and instruction that integrates creative writing and dance with core classroom subject matter.
• $1,000 brings a writer into a Lane County school for in-depth, ongoing writing labs for 20 hours of instruction
• $85 enrolls a child in eight weekly writing workshops.
• $250 pays the honorarium for an artist to produce multi-media word play for family groups
