The Poetry Posts Project:

Posters of poems written by Lane County youth sent to all Lane County public schools, three times a year for ten years!

Schools not only prominently posted the poetry posters, written by school-aged Lane County poets, but also had a student, teacher or principal read them over the intercom with their companion adult poem and five questions.

The teaching writers who led the after school writing groups for YWA choose a student poem and partnered it with a published poem on a similar theme. They added questions students and teachers may choose to ask the poems in order to get to know them a little better.
